I had a weeks holiday from work and planned to spend it in the best way possible. Starting off by seeing the Foo Fighters in Edinburgh then flying down to London the next day to hit the theatres and see Taylor Swift do her magic. Unfortunately, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters went and broke his leg and had to cancel the Edinburgh show. (Today they announced a rescheduled date in September – yay!) So my week wasn’t off to the best of starts.

Although, just before my holiday started I received a phone call from BioReliance offering me a fixed term job as an Associate Scientist! So it didn’t bother me too much about the Foos since I had something to celebrate! My week off started with Scott buying me flowers and a card (the first time he’s ever bought me flowers!) and he made dinner and already bought drinks. Excellent weekend.

Thankfully, we had already planned and booked tickets for our London visit so we didn’t have to worry too much about spending money since it was already paid for! Wednesday night saw us heading to the Victoria Apollo theatre to see Wicked which was brilliant. On Thursday we visited the Harry Potter Studios and had dinner and drinks catching up with some friends who had moved to London. Friday we went to see The Lion King, which was amazing and I highly recommend it to absolutely everyone! The weather was great and so warm and sunny whilst we were in the capital so spending our Saturday in Hyde Park with some drinks and Ciaran and Holly was the best. Sadly we had to come home on Sunday night to head back to work the next day. We visited the South Bank Centre before having to go to the airport and came across this water feature so we played about in it and took loads of photos, like all of the wee kids round about us. 🙂
