Last Sunday whilst at work, I was thinking about why I was even there. I was in a bad mood for various reasons and decided that I couldn’t think of a good reason other than “I need money” for why I was even working. My day suddenly got better and I realised why I was still there when I went to put the hoist strap that I’d just washed away in the cupboard in the lounge. One resident, May, turned to the woman sitting next to her, Jean, and said, “That girl is very nice. She’s lovely.” Totally put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. The residents in the home I work in are lovely people.
